|
This short and popular trekking in
Annapurna region offers fine scenery, rhododendron
forests and warm hospitality. An ascent of Poon Hill
(3193m) is also included which provides a wonderful
360° panorama of all the famous mountains in this
area. For those who have less time in Nepal but wish
to see the mountains by close eye, this is the perfect
trek. This trek starts with the short drive from Pokhara
to Nayapul and then starting trekking crossing the
many bamboo & rhododendron forests and large waterfalls
with swimming holes and taking us to the maximum elevation
of 3210 m for the excursion of the famous Poon Hill
to see the famous mountain peaks close to our eyes.
During the trek, we would have chance to see the famous
mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche, Nilgiri,
most of the ranges Annapurna, Hiunchule & Tarke
Kang. Ghorepani means "horse water" and
it is no doubt a welcome watering stop for the teams
of horses, mules and ponies that carry loads between
Pokhara and Jomsom.
One can extend the program upon completion
of this trip. Extension to Royal Chitwan National
Park or rafting in the famous rivers of Nepal like
Seti, Kali Gandaki or Trishuli is also possible. All
