White Water Rafting - Kali Gandaki

Named after the much-revered Goddess Kali and descending from the deepest gorge in Asia, this fabulous river (class 3 to 4+) offers a mixture of astounding mountain views and pure adrenaline with a full immersion into the wilderness. This river brings the water of 108 religious spouts from Muktinath in lower Mustang; it's one of the most worshipped pilgrimage sites in the Himalayas. Mustang is a pre-historic site that poses fossil of ancient marine creatures and sometime it's found in the river beds down below. The Kaligandaki gives the pleasure of combination of adventure along with the spiritual aspect as this river is named after the goddess Kali. Kaligandaki used to be the best 5 day's river trip but very recently it's shorten to 3 days only because of construction of Kaligandaki Dam. Yet it's the best 3 day's short river trip in Nepal. The Kaligandaki rafting ends right at the hydro dam from where the road is connected to Pokhara.
Along the way you will encounter culture at its simplest. If you're lucky, traditional Magar and Chetri villagers will venture down to the riverbank to witness your journey through the remote mountain wilderness of Nepal. It is two days driving and 3 days rafting starting from and to Pokhara.
