Although not as well known and popular as the Everest or the Annpurna region, this region offers a number of distinct advantages. The region offers you the opportunity to get right in among the Himalayan peaks and to walk through the remote, sparsely populated areas. The trek is easily accessible from Kathmandu. Major trails passes through the Tibetan and Tamang villages and the Sherpa villages. Interestingly the Sherpas here are less popular unlike the Sherpas from Khumbu region and slightly differ in the characters. However, are very friendly and hospitable. The trekking in this route offers the spectacular views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal Himal, Kachenjunga, famous Mt. Everest and Dhawalagiri.
For the real adventure, the combination of Langtang and Helambu Treks on this region can be linked by high-altitude passes, via the holy lake Gosainkund or the Ganja La at 5106 m. Gosaikund is the site for a great pilgrimage in August each year and visited by the hindu & buddhist pilgrimages. The large rock in the center of the lake is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine and it is also claimed that a channel carries water from the lake directly to the tank at Khumbeshwar Temple in Patan, lying 60km to the south. The Ganja La pass is considered as one of the more difficult passes in Nepal and is always attempted with a knowledgeable guide, adequate acclimatisation and some mountaineering experience. We invite you to explore the Langtang regions with us. All treks are operated for the minimum of two people to maximum group size of 12 people. Fully organized camping as well as tea house treks are possible in this routes.
