The Annapurna region is yet another very perfect and demanding trekking destination of Nepal for the adventurous people. Usually the trek to Annapurna region starts from the lakeside town of Pokhara through the dramatic changes in landscape, culture and climate etc. Additionally, one of the most sacred Hindu shrine, Muktinath also falls under this region. During the trek, one can have the beautiful scenes of high snowy mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Ganesh , Manaslu etc. Moreover, the Spring and Autumn are the very best season for trekking to Annapurna Region.
Being as a number one trekking route, Annapurna Region trekking has its own reason to be popular. The trekking to Annapurna region starts slowly from a low altitude and faces towards the way through softly winding tropical gorges, waterfalls, forests, and copious villages up to the implausible Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges. At the North of Pokhara, there is a large area preserved by the Annapurna Conservation Area project. So that we can see the several numbers of Rhododendron forests during the trip. Gurungs, Mananges and Thakuris are the most prominent ethnic groups of Annapurna Region and follows Buddhists and Hindu religion. Among the three, the numbers of Gurungs are slightly more than the others.
Most of the trekking routes in the Annapurna region are well serviced by teahouses for most of their length. Besides, the trekkers must be aware of the risk of being trapped by bad weather or injury or sickness flanked by teahouses, mainly in those remote areas explained in the trek itineraries. Manang, Jomsom, Dolpa, Tatopani, Annapurna Sanctuary, Tilicho Lake, Kagbeni are some prominent place to see while the trip.
