The Ghorepani Trek, a trail located at the Annapurna Region is in fact one of the best trekking trails of Nepal. the trek to Ghorepaniis also know as the Small Annapurna Circuit trek. The trek to Ghorepani is also famed for the views and sceneries it provides of spectacular snowy mountains including Machhapuchhre, Annapurna etc., sunrise and sunset over the Himalayas, charming and traditional Gurung and Magar villages and their culture, thick rhododendron forests and different species of birds, deep sub-tropical valleys etc. The trek to Poon Hill is also the main attraction of this trek.

The Ghorepani trek is the ultimate destination of Annapurna massif trek. It is believed that Ghorepani used to be as the main pass through which the merchants with Mules from Mustang and Tibet used to pass through to reach Pokhara.

The trek to Ghorepani is considered as one of the easy and low elevation trekking routes of Annapurna Region because the highest point during the trek is only 3200 m. But being as a short and easy trek, it provides a great opportunity to observe the natural beauty of the Annapurna Region. Usually the Ghorepani trek starts from the north of Pokhara and heads through the Poon Hill. Poon Hill is a famous viewpoint of whole Annapurna Region. From Here, Poon Hill, we can have a beautiful breathtaking view of Annapurna peaks including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt Machhapuchre. Beside, we can also have a beautiful view of transcendental valley to the south. Here mostly the region is dominated by Gurung and Magars. Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village of the place and is popular for its unique old tradition, ancient culture etc.
