At first, the trek to Tilicho Lake is totally banned and only started after 1974, when China’s policy was changed. The Tilicho Lake trekking is not done yet almost as other trekking route of Annapurna region but is suggested for the all types of tourists.

Tilicho Lake, highest in the world, is located at a dazzling spot in the Annapurna region at an altitude of about 5000 metres. Beside, the trek to Tilicho Lake is also regarded as a wonderful summer trek. Usually the trek starts from Besisahar and goes along the Marshyangdi River throughout the secluded valley of Manang, district behind the mountains, from where we can have the magnificent view of Manaslu, Himal Chuli, Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal etc. After reaching at Manang, then after our trek will head to Khangsar and Mesokantu La instead of Thorang-La pass. Here, when you are passing the Mesokantu La you must be careful because is consider as a very difficult and risky. The picturesque traditional villages, turbulent river gorges, old Buddhist monastery etc. are some main attraction of the trek.
